So you want to know a little about my
little comic strip...I am making this section as there is only one strip on the
site. One of my friends has read the 8 strips I have so far, so there
isn't too much to say.
I came up with the name Inspired Void when
I decided to make a comic and sign up on
Keenspace. I had no idea at that point what kind of comic I would
make. I started reading various comic strips online very recently starting
with Megatokyo, and in the past few months I
have read through about 40 different strips from the beginning, and nowI really wanted to make something of my own. I decided to start
learning to draw since I haven't taken any art classes since Junior High.
I have some ability to draw basic things that come out alright, but I have no
consistent ability to draw the same things more than once from different
angles...not to mention backgrounds. I still plan on developing more
skills in the future and you may see some fledgling art here in the future.
So, when I finally got ready to create
Inspired Void I had the idea to put everything on a black background (or void).
Everything that gets added to that void complicates matters. Things start
simply and move on from there in a far from perfect manner that allows for
little bits of humor. I latched onto the idea, and I actually enjoy this
simple venture even though it takes very little effort on my part.
Inspired Void isn't about my views on life
or God or creation or anything like that. This comic exists in its own
world with its own rules. So far there are 6 characters and things are
very out of hand.
If this comic makes you think because of
some underlying meaning intended or not, that is great. I would also be
happy if Inspired Void just gives you a simple pleasure and a smile on your
face.
Characters:
The white text that just appears as out of the void comes
from one side of the personality of the creator. The creator exists in the
void and is lonely for some company. He has the ability when cooperating
with the other half of his mind to bring things into existence.
Unfortunately he doesn't have any good ideas and no real creativity.
The red text from nowhere is the other side of this world's
creator's split personality. He is very sadistic and his influence on
creation keeps personality A from ever making anything satisfactory. He
isn't very smart though and never does anything that could do any real harm...at
least not intentionally.
The first creation has very little personality or ability to
do anything. It has intelligence but cannot speak. However it can
make it's emotions known in some simple form. It can also create visible
words in the void when moving in a certain way. After the first violence
the speck was able to form simple sounds and imply simple actions. After
fading into nothingness he was brought back to life in a yellow form with the
personality of a foulmouthed angsty teenager. He is now dead.
The second creation has the ability to talk, but it doesn't
have much intelligence either. It is representative of the female and is
meant to be the mate of the first creation. However, it has the
personality of a 4 year old girl. After the first violence she lost a
little intelligence, and became more of a simple sweet, yet annoying little
girl. The 2nd violence has left her unmoving, unspeaking, and almost gone.
This character is a mystery so far. He wasn't created,
and he doesn't seem to come from the Inspired Void universe. He appears to
have evil intentions, and he is more intelligent than any of the other
characters so far. After absorbing the remains of the Speck he gained
complexity and it is unknown what improvements this has given him.
Born when the 2 creations crashed together. He is made
of the energy both creations lost in the process. He only knew his father
momentarily before the Speck disappeared (and was absorbed), and his mother is
basically crippled. No one has bothered to explain anything to him yet as
they are too busy trying to figure out what is going on in the world. He
has the capability for great complexity and intelligence, but he is short on
information.
